Amazing opportunity to take on a rural GMS (17J) practice
We’re looking for an innovative group of GPs to take on the contract for the provision of medical services in the beautiful, rural area of Mallaig & Arisaig. This stable, rural practice is a perfect opportunity for a team of two GP’s or a GP/Advanced Nurse Practitioner model. Ideally you’d have experience of providing healthcare in a rural community. The practice is located in the port of Mallaig, with a Branch Surgery in Arisaig. The practice area extends north to the Knoydart peninsula (accessible only by boat), and south through the villages of Morar and Arisaig to the communities in Lochailort and Roshven, and the village of Glenuig.

Staffing profile: Practice Manager (32hrs pw ), Practice Admin/Receptionists (103 hrs pw), Practice Nurse (420 annualised hrs ), Health Care Assistant (10hrs pw).
List size 1780 patients
There are opportunities to either rent or purchase accommodation in the area. Outdoor interests include: cold water swimming, stunning beaches, kayaking (local canoe club) walking, hill walking, cycling, 9 hole golf course in a beautiful setting, fishing and shooting. There is a local swimming pool with sauna and gymnasium. In the Community Hall there is a Library, College (Mallaig Learning Centre), indoor bowling, whist club, dancing, yoga music etc. ....... and of course wonderful fresh seafood landed locally!
