As a Clinical Nurse Specialist managing patients with headache and associated symptoms, you are required to have had significant relevant experience working within the Neurology Service and have the knowledge and skill set to competently perform the necessary technical/invasive/physical aspects of care for this defined patient group, previous nurse specialist experience would be advantageous. As part of a clinical team under the leadership of Lead Nurse within NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde, you will be responsible for the delivery of a high-quality outpatient clinic service, targeted patient groups including pre-treatment counselling and screening, monitoring of therapy/clinical response, urgent intervention and admission avoidance consultations. You must have the ability to work independently and possess excellent communication skills to manage the collaborative telephone advice lines / triage of incoming calls, out- patient referrals, interface with hospital clinicians and general practitioners, delivery of clinical support with a high level of ITC skills. As part of a Service development, you will have the expertise to specifically focus on the delivery of new and advancing treatments such as nerve Blocks and Botox therapy. This post is based in Lanarkshire and you will work closely with other Headache CNS`s and Neurology CNS team members across the NHS GG&C to support the existing service where necessary. It is essential that you are currently a Registered Adult Nurse with the NMC with significant post registration experience (Desirable) within the relevant speciality. You must be willing to undertake the non-medical prescribing and clinical assessment modules in order to support the development of the service. Experience in delivering botulin toxin for chronic migraine is desirable. You would be required to have substantial post registration experience.
The shift pattern for this post is Monday - Friday.
