As a major division within the NHS National Services Scotland, the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS) plays a vital role not only in the health of the people of Scotland but also on an international scale – through our leading position in new product development, biomedical research and donor services. Our goal is to maintain the highest standards to patient care whilst remaining internationally competitive.
This post will be based in the Clinical Support Team, is a national post and will involve a degree of home working. Induction training will take place at one of our designated bases.
We are recruiting an enthusiastic, motivated, flexible person to undertake this challenging and interesting post providing a frontline advisory service to donors along with the administrative duties associated with the collection of blood and blood products.
You should be customer focussed and have a friendly telephone manner and be willing to work as part of a team.
Candidates must be educated to higher grade level and have excellent key board skills and a good working knowledge of Word, Excel and Access software packages. You must also possess excellent communication skills, have the ability to multi task and be able to work under pressure. Previous relevant healthcare/donor care experience is advantageous.
You must be flexible, and willing to work variable hours if required.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo a PVG Scheme Disclosure Scotland check.
The successful candidate(s) must comply with the Mandatory Induction Standards and with the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers.
Any candidate who has lived/worked overseas for more than 12 months in the preceding 5 years will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency.
