As a major division within the NHS National Services Scotland the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS) plays a vital role not only in the health of the people of Scotland but also on an international scale through our leading position in new product development biomedical research and donor / clinical services. Our goal is to maintain the highest standards to patient care whilst remaining internationally competitive.  

We are looking for a dynamic, confident and friendly Staff Nurse to provide clinical leadership for the Clinical Support Team (CST). 

This post will be based in the Clinical Support Team, is a national post and will involve a degree of home working. Induction training will take place at one of our designated bases/online learning

The CST provides frontline advice to blood donors via telephone/website dealing with donor selection queries, appointments, post donation advice and care. Along with the Senior Charge Nurse/Charge Nurses you will be expected to assist with the management of the service, lead and motivate the team in the delivery of frontline customer service, and provide clinical advice on blood donation and post donation care. The post holder must work closely with other clinical colleagues and donor administration teams. Experience in blood collection is desirable however relevant training will be given.    

You may be expected to travel to other sites in Scotland for meetings. 

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a PVG Scheme Disclosure/Disclosure Scotland check. 
Any candidate who has worked overseas for more than 3 months will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency
