This Nurse Consultant role is a senior nursing leadership post for NHS GG&C Adult Services Mental Health nursing care and provides an exciting opportunity for an experienced first level registered nurse with a minimum of 5 years’ experience of working at band 7 or above. You will hold a master’s degree or working towards masters level degree. This post will provide strategic, professional and clinical nursing leadership and consultancy in nursing practice across the spectrum of adult mental health services across NHSGG&C, whilst also contributing to and influencing national advances and developments in the clinical field. The post will take lead responsibility for vulnerable groups, particularly those affected by mental health issues, or subject to inequalities in health. The post works within a multi-professional and multiagency network and supports Glasgow City’s HSCP and NHS GG& C plans to improve and protect the health of the population and quality of health care for patients and clients
The post will work collaboratively across boundaries with partner providers of health & social care, other statutory services and voluntary organisations to provide a seamless approach to patient care, treatment and recovery across the spectrum of Mental Health Care.
The post is affiliated to higher education institutes and takes a lead in the development, implementation and monitoring of professional development, training, education and research and development in relation to Mental Health Nursing within Adult Services. The post will take the lead role in maximising the contribution that values and evidence based nursing makes to the patient journey in the areas of: Clinical, professional leadership and consultancy, Policy, practice and service development, research & evaluation, Education, training and professional development and expert clinical practice. It is essential that you are currently a Registered Nurse with the NMC with relevant experience within community health. You should have a Higher degree - Masters or working towards Masters Degree or PhD and have substantial post registration experience at senior level (Band 7 or above) and that you have the ability to practise at an expert level with a broad understanding of the public health needs within a mental health care setting. The shift pattern for this post is 9.00am – 5.00pm.
