Due to an exciting service development within NHS Tayside, an opportunity has arisen for the recruitment of a Radiopharmacy Quality Systems Specialist Pharmacist  at Ninewells Hospital, Dundee.

The post offers an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Pharmacist with aseptic / production experience to expand their knowledge regarding Pharmaceutical Quality assurance, tracer radiolabelling, radiopharmaceutical quality control techniques and develop their leadership skills whilst  contributing  to the smooth running of our comprehensive clinical Radiopharmacy service.

The post-holder will maintain the departments Pharmaceutical Quality System (PQS), with a particular focus on PET radiopharmaceuticals and will support the radiopharmacy team with day to day operations.

The work of the Radiopharmacy includes dispensing and quality control of diagnostic and therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals, performing autologous radio- cell labellings , as well as supporting the  provision of an in-vitro laboratory service.

The post-holder is required to work to extremely high standards of accuracy and will act as an  IR(ME)R Entitled Authorised Pharmacist  on a daily basis, and will deputise for the accountable pharmacist in their absence.

Successful applicants will be part of a friendly, supportive and experienced team that provides high quality specialist services which is to include the production of  68Ga-radiopharmaceuticals, and clinical trials.

Applicants must hold a Master Degree in Pharmacy and be registered with the General Pharmacy Council (GPhC).

It is a requirement of the job that the post holder has a flexible approach to work and is available to start work at  07:00.


Hours of work are:  37.5 hrs per week
