Job Advert
We have a vacancy for an enthusiastic and forward thinking principal clinical psychologist to join our small but friendly Alcohol and Drugs Recovery Service (ADRS) psychology team. The post is part of a well-established psychological therapies service, providing an opportunity to work in an integrated health and social care addiction setting. The post involved is split between the Glasgow Alcohol Related Brain Damage service and a locality-based alcohol and drug community service for individuals within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. You will play a key role in the provision of a high quality, evidence based clinical psychology service, working individually, and in groups, with clients who present with alcohol and drug problems, cognitive impairment and mental health conditions. You will also provide advice, training and consultation to other staff to support the delivery of psychosocial interventions and psychological therapies in the context of a matched stepped care model of delivery. You will have a key role in supporting staff to deliver psychologically and trauma informed care and treatments. You will be expected to contribute to the development of the ARBD service and wider ADRS psychology service and participate in research and audit, in line with service priorities. You will be encouraged to develop a specialist clinical interest and continued professional development is strongly supported. We co-ordinate the addictions teaching component and have close links with the Glasgow University Doctorate Course in Clinical Psychology. You must be registered with the HCPC as a Clinical Psychologist. Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS or HCPC, including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology is essential. The shift pattern is 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday.
