BANK Senior Practitioner Nurse (Custody)
Burnett Road Police Station
Band 6 (£31,800 - £39,169) per annum pro rata
Hours: as and when required

An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced bank nurses to come and join our team! Are you looking for a new dynamic challenge?
You will be working in partnership within the Police Custody Division, Scottish Ambulance Service and Acute and Secondary Care services as an autonomous worker. Your role will be to support and deliver healthcare provision to detained persons within the Police Custody Suite at Burnett Road Police Station, Inverness.
You should have the ability to manage a complex caseload, conduct clinical assessments, identify and implement appropriate interventions in individuals with Mental Health issues, Learning disabilities, long term conditions and addictions. Working with forensic services and assessing for fitness to detain, fitness for interview and fitness for court and fitness for release. Promoting person-centred self care, signposting to agencies and referring to health and social care where appropriate.
Non Medical Prescribing is essential and you would be required to undertake further training to meet the needs of the developing role within Custodial Forensic Services.
Previous experience in the following services is desirable: custodial services/ emergency department/ Out of Hours/ community healthcare/ mental Health/ addictions.
In addition to the PVG checks, the successful candidates will require to be vetted to level 2 by Police Scotland, which has a requirement the post holder has been resident in the UK for the past 3 years. Orientation period will be arranged.
