Job Advert

We are currently looking to recruit an HCPC registered Dietitian to our paediatric dietetic and diabetes service at RACH. The post will be based in Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital and will involve primarily delivering education to new and existing patients with diabetes; with opportunities for involvement in other areas of paediatric dietetics.

The post holder will be based within the dietetic department in the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital and will be part of both the welcoming and supportive dietetic and multidisciplinary Diabetes teams.

There are approximately 320 children with Type 1 Diabetes in NHS Grampian with around 40 new diagnoses per year. Most families are taught carbohydrate counting from diagnosis; individually and in group sessions. You will play an active part in the multidisciplinary diabetes team; facilitating education to new and existing patients and their families and will keep up to date with developments in diabetes technology to support patients and their families.

Support will be given by a team of experienced staff through close team working, formal and informal supervision in the context of a multi-disciplinary approach. Training will be provided; but previous experience in either diabetes or paediatric dietetics is essential.

As RACH is a teaching hospital and has a wide range of specialist services, some covering the whole of the North of Scotland, we offer excellent opportunities for personal and professional development.

It is hoped to hold interviews for this post on Thursday 22nd April 2021.
