Agenda for Change Band 6 (HCPC Registered)
Salary Scale - £31,365 to £37,890 per annum
Agenda for Change Band 5 (Trainee)
Salary Scale - £24,907 to £30,615 per annum
Applications are invited for the above posts from suitably qualified HCPC registered Biomedical Scientists or Trainee Biomedical Scientists who are educated to degree / equivalent level with a degree accredited by the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS). Experience within an immunohematology and/or transfusion microbiology/bacteriology production environment would be an advantage.
The testing department provides an essential service towards the provision of healthcare in Scotland. The department is responsible for testing specialised blood components from both whole blood and apheresis collections.
The post holders will be a member of a team working within the testing department. As part of that team, they will work to ensure that service delivery is carried out in a timely and efficient manner and to the highest of quality standards necessary to meet regulatory requirements. The post holders will be expected to undertake shift working as part of their role. (Pattern covers 24/7 365)
The successful candidate will be required to undergo a Disclosure Scotland check.
Any candidate who has lived/worked overseas for more than 12 months in the preceding 5 years will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency
