An opportunity has arisen to appoint an Advanced Practitioner in NHS Dumfries & Galloway to work as part of the Orthopaedic team.
We are looking for a Physiotherapist with significant knowledge, skills and experience in the management of patients presenting with a wide range of acute, complex and chronic spinal conditions.
You will work closely with the Consultants within Orthopaedic clinic setting, using advanced scope of practice and highly specialised clinical reasoning skills. You will be taking initial history, clinical assessment, order appropriate investigations to formulate an effective treatment plan, make differential diagnosis, onward referrals and discharges.
The majority of the clinics will be held at the Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary Orthopaedic Out Patient dept, but once a month you will hold a clinic in the West of the region. At present many consultations are being conducted digitally.
There may be the opportunity to develop further joint pathway work within Orthopaedics.
It is recognised, for this role that not all interested applicants may possess all the required competencies needed. A period of development may be required to gain the necessary skills for this role and a training plan will be developed for the role as needed. This can be discussed at interview and you could be considered on the Agenda for Change Annexe 21 (U).
