The lynchpin of the Stroke Service in Oban Lorn and Isles is the Advanced Nurse Specialist and we are looking to recruit an individual who is an expert in stroke care and person and family focussed .

Stroke can affect people of all ages but is more prevalent among adults aged 65 years and older . In tandem with ageing demographic trends and rising prevalence of metabolic syndrome it is anticipated that the prevalence of stroke will increase globally.

We are looking for a highly committed and motivated well experienced nurse who will take forward this service to incorporate treatments associated with improved clinical outcomes.

Applicants should be educated to Degree level and preferably Masters and be able to  demonstrate evidence of continued learning in this speciality. The role will be across primary care, acute services, and secondary prevention in the community. Nurse prescribing is a prerequisite skill to Advanced Nursing . Applicants will be expected to demonstrate highly developed assessment , diagnostic, analytical and clinical judgement skills.
