This post is a 9 month fixed Term / secondment position.
As a major division within the NHS National Services Scotland, the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS) plays a vital role not only in the health of the people of Scotland but also on an international scale – through our leading position in new product development, biomedical research and donor services. Our goal is to maintain the highest standards to patient care whilst remaining internationally competitive.
We are looking for a dynamic, forward thinking nurse who enjoys working as part of a team. You will require excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills .An active interest in training and quality assurance would also be beneficial. Within your role you will contribute to the overall management and smooth running of whole blood and blood component sessions ensuring donors feel welcome, comfortable and valued. You will be required to undertake venepuncture and medical selection duties.
You must be flexible, and willing to work variable hours. Hours will include Sundays and regular late evenings.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo a PVG Scheme Disclosure/Disclosure Scotland check. Any candidate who has worked overseas for more than 3 months will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency.
