Rehabilitation Engineering Technician (Wheelchair and Seating) - Band 5


Salary Scale:  £25,351- £31,966 per annum

An opportunity has arisen for a Rehabilitation Engineering Technician (wheelchairs and seating) to join the multi-disciplinary team in the Tayside Orthopaedic and Rehabilitation Technology (TORT) Services Assistive Technology team based within Ninewells Hospital in Dundee. 

TORT Services form part of the NHS Tayside Surgical and Orthopaedic Clinical Care Group.  Its primary constituent services are Assistive Technology, Prosthetics and Orthotics services.

The Rehabilitation Engineering Technician provides technical expertise in the assessment, design, manufacture and delivery of specialist rehabilitation equipment including wheelchairs, seating and electronic assistive technology designed to offer improved posture, mobility and quality of life for disabled people. 


The successful candidate will have extensive experience in engineering and in the use of workshop machines and fabrication equipment.   Contemporary practical knowledge of wheelchair or electronic assistive technology would be an advantage. Competency will be demonstrated through evidence of training, practical workplace experience or relevant qualification in a technical subject.
