Genomic Health Care Assistant
Band 3
Part-Time 22.5 hours

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic genomic health care assistant to join our Clinical Genetic Team to help prepare patients and their families referred to the Genetic Clinic with a personal and/or family history of cancer and other genetic conditions. The successful applicant will be required to prepare patient’s electronic pedigrees and obtain confirmation of the diagnoses in the family. They will provide assistance to the Clinical Genetic Team to ensure the smooth running of the Genetic Clinics and other administrative tasks as deemed appropriate.
We seek someone who is caring, compassionate, flexible, a good communicator and with some understanding of genetic conditions. Experience of working in a health care setting is also desirable. Our patient records are electronic, hence applicants must have excellent IT skills.
The Genetic Clinic based in Ashgrove House, Foresterhill is bright and welcoming. Our clinicians and genetic counsellors see families, adults and children who are affected by or who are at risk of a genetic disorder.
Some of the patients may have physical or learning disabilities.
