South Genetics Service

Genetic Technologist

Band 5: 37.50 hrs per week

Pay scale from: £25,100 - £31,649

Applications are invited from individuals with a life science background for a permanent post as a Genetic Technologist within the South East Scotland Genetic Service, based at the Western General Hospital, Edinburgh. The fully UKAS accredited laboratory provides both regional and national Genetics Services.

Candidates should have experience of working in a scientific laboratory and a detailed understanding of Laboratory Standard Operating Procedures and Policies.

The post holder will work within a busy diagnostic laboratory and undertake a wide range of duties towards the investigation of both inherited and acquired genetic conditions.

The post holder will also have the opportunity for continuing career development as we enjoy regular departmental seminar programmes and training is available where appropriate.                                                            Applicants must possess a relevant Honours Degree in life sciences.
