NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is the ’s largest provider of acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services. With a total budget of £3.2 billion and a workforce of around 39,000 staff it serves an immediate population of 1.2 million plus provides specialist regional services to more than half of ’s population. The geographical area covered is diverse; from the major city of , large and small towns, villages and some rural districts; and encompasses 6 local authority areas from to Inverclyde.
Our Acute Services are delivered currently from three Sectors covering North Glasgow, South Glasgow and and three Directorates with cross site responsibilities covering Women and Children's Services, Regional Services and Diagnostics and Imaging. Inpatient and outpatient Acute and Medicine for the Elderly services are delivered across 9 sites which include Acute teaching hospitals of which the state-of-the-art Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and the Royal Hospital for Children are colocated on one of the largest hospital campuses in the UK and one of the most advanced in Europe.
The Board is embarking on a period of transformational change developing new models of care delivery which require services to continue to respond to the increased demands of a changing population. This will be driven by innovation and the opportunities presented by new technology and the digital age.
We are seeking to appoint a new Acute Access Delivery Manager who will provide leadership, focus and guidance to the Patient Access agenda for NHS Greater Glasgow and .
The key focus of the role is to scope, develop and manage processes that will deliver waiting time targets across Greater Glasgow and . A key priority of the role is to specifically ensure that all appropriate actions are enacted that systematically drive down patient waits, ensuring delivery of national waiting times guarantees and targets across each Acute Sector and Clinical Specialty.
The post holder will be expected to lead and coordinate the weekly Acute Sector and monthly NHSGGC waiting time recovery meetings with Acute General Managers and Clinical Service Managers that will feed into the monthly Directors’ Access Targets Meeting.
The post holder will play a key role in creating a supporting structure to deliver the National Access Targets and ensure that productive links are established with Acute General Managers and Clinical Service Managers. The postholder will work closely with Acute operational teams to ensure waiting recovery objectives are met.
We are seeking an individual who will be of graduate caliber with a demonstrable track record of success in a senior position within a Public Sector environment, preferably within the NHS, with an extensive programme of Project Management experience in delivering operational and strategic change with the capability of understanding and championing the wider objectives of the Patient Access Agenda.
