This new post provides the opportunity to develop a wide range of skills and supervisory experience in NHS Tayside Nutrition and Dietetic Service.
NHS Tayside opened as a Major Trauma Centre in 2018 at Ninewells Hospital. A strong focus on high quality multidisciplinary integrated working is fundamental to its success. An Allied Health Professions Rehabilitation Pathway has been developed that aims to provide evidence based practice and best patient experience possible. This Nutrition & Dietetic post holder will play a crucial role in supporting the AHP Major Trauma dietetic team lead to ensure patients admitted following major trauma receive the expected high standards of care throughout their journey. You will carry a clinical caseload and be responsible for the implementation of the pathway by contributing to education, training and development, particularly in the community. You must be able to demonstrate clinical reasoning, extensive relevant experience and sound knowledge of Nutrition and Dietetic assessment, acute management, treatment and rehabilitation.
Excellent working relationships exist with dietetic colleagues throughout NHS Tayside via the Tayside Nutrition & Dietetic Service and the Tayside Nutrition Network to develop and implement evidence-based practice, receive peer support and help to progress Continuous Professional Development. There is also a commitment to training of dietetic students, medical students and other healthcare professionals.
Excellent inter-personal and communications skills and the ability to demonstrate good team working as well as being able to work autonomously are required.
