A unique opportunity has arisen for a radiographer to work jointly between Breast Screening and University Hospital Crosshouse, time will be shared equally between the departments. At University Hospital Crosshouse you will spend time working in both the symptomatic breast service and general radiography.
You will be required to work on a nine to five basis with weekend/evening work as and when required. At breast screening you will undertake work both at the mobile screening vans and the static screening site where you will be responsible for carrying out routine mammography screening as well as taking part in the assessment process.
The successful candidate should be an innovative, highly motivated radiographer with good communication and team working skills. A flexible approach to your work is essential.
The ideal candidate must demonstrate a commitment to professional development and show a keen interest in the future of their profession and the Diagnostic Imaging services. They will be expected to support both the service and its staff in continuing to maintain and develop the highest standards of imaging. In return the successful applicant will be offered a high standard of support towards their career pathway.
You should have a BSc (Hons) or equivalent in Diagnostic Radiography / Imaging Sciences with registration with the HCPC. You will be expected to work towards a post graduate certificate in Mammography.
An up-to-date Continuing Personal Development portfolio is required.
A car owner / driver is essential. Travel to the mobile screening units at distant locations and overnight stays are a requirement of the post.
