Applications are invited from suitably experienced and motivated individuals with excellent knowledge and practical skills and experience in Cellular Pathology. The Team Manager role and duties is primarily Histopathology based with management support of specialist Histology areas such as Immunohistochemistry and non-Histology areas such as Diagnostic Cytology. Cellular Pathology is provided on two sites within Edinburgh; consists of well-equipped laboratories, with a combined workload of over 60,000 requests annually.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership qualities, organisational, training skills and must have experience of managing staff. As a Team Manager you will organise and participate in the daily routine work, organise laboratory management meetings and be involved with training, quality assurance, audit and other aspects of clinical governance.
Candidates must be HCPC registered, Educated to SCQF level 11 e.g. MSc or IBMS Higher Specialist Diploma, specialising in Histology.
The post is pan-Lothian; however, the successful applicant will be based at Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh but may rotate to the Western General Hospital, if and when required.
Previous work in an NHS Pathology Laboratory is essential
The successful applicant would be expected to participate in Continuing Professional Development.
