Consultant in Respiratory and General Medicine
University Hospital Hairmyres
University Hospital Hairmyres (UHH) is looking to appoint a Consultant in Respiratory and General (Internal) Medicine to join a friendly, dynamic and motivated existing consultant team of 3 consultants, supported by respiratory specialist nurses, lung cancer nurses and advanced nurse practitioners working as a multidisciplinary team to allow us to provide holistic care to a wide range of respiratory patients. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop a subspecialty interest and driving service change. It is a particularly exciting time as we plan to reshape our respiratory service to cater for an expanding service.
The successful candidate will have access to on site bronchoscopy and thoracic ultrasound facilities, an access to offsite EBUS service currently provided by our two partner hospitals (University Hospital Wishaw & University Hospital Monklands), participation in regular weekly lung cancer MDT, an access to ILD MDT and close links with thoracic surgery when needed. An opportunity for active involvement in medical education and teaching, research and development, quality improvement and clinical governance will be available to the post holder.
