NHS BORDERS Department of Nutrition & Dietetics

Macmillan Project Manager/Advanced Clinical Specialist (ACS) Dietitian

Fixed term for 2 years,  37.5 hours per week

A unique opportunity has arisen for a dietitian to work alongside Macmillan Cancer Support to develop a highly specialised service within the NHS Borders Dietetic team to develop and produce a Nutritional Care Pathway for Cancer patients in the Borders that integrates with Macmillan Right by You Principles.

We are looking for an experienced dietitian who has skills necessary to assess the needs of cancer patients, lead on scoping gaps in the service, co-design a Nutritional Care Pathway with service users and stakeholders and manage the Macmillan grant.  Stakeholders will include service users, the oncology clinical team and Macmillan.   Ultimately, the post holder will use their critical thinking in reviewing the evidence base and networking with existing national initiatives to launch a Nutritional care pathway within NHSB cancer centre to improve survivorship.

You would be expected to participate in student training (A, B and C placements) and to provide clinical training and supervision for dietitians and other staff within the team.   We are committed to training and support for CPD and clinical governance, with a supervision framework, annual appraisals, peer support and training opportunities to further develop clinical skills.

For further information please contact: Vanessa Hamilton (Dietetic Service Lead) on 01896 827231 or Ann O’Connor (ACS GI Project Dietitian) on 01896 826450.
