The Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh (RIE) is a large teaching hospital with an established reputation for offering excellent practice across a wide variety of specialist services. The RIE and Royal Hospital for Children and Young People (RHCYP) are to be designated as Major Trauma Centres for adults and paediatrics for South East Scotland; and this new post offers an exciting opportunity to become involved.
We are looking for a highly motivated, dynamic Lead Clinical Pharmacist to be responsible for delivery of pharmaceutical services to the dedicated major trauma ward; and to collaborate with all relevant lead and specialist pharmacists and the pain team in the management of major trauma patients within the RIE and RHCYP. The post holder will provide leadership and be involved in the development, planning and organisation of the the clinical pharmacy service. The post holder will be a key member of the multidisciplinary Major Trauma Centre team and look to establish a prescribing role.
Candidates must have a Master of Pharmacy degree or equivalent, be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council and have relevant post-registration experience with evidence of postgraduate training and professional development. You must be a confident communicator and demonstrate adaptive leadership skills with a track record of influencing cost effective prescribing.
