This is an exciting post for recent graduates who wish to increase their clinical skills. The post holder will work primarily within East and West Caithness, a beautiful, historic part of North Highland and will incorporate a period of mentorship which will include covering clinical techniques in advance of those experienced at university. These will include posterior tibial nerve blocks, deep enucleations and blunt dissections / needling of verrucae. There will be an opportunity to gain experience within diabetes, non diabetes wound care, advanced vascular assessments and orthotic manufacture.


You will be able to provide the highest quality evidence based podiatric care in a variety of settings as an autonomous practitioner. No previous experience is necessary although an understanding of the philosophy of care aims is desirable you will have a BSc qualification in Podiatric Medicine and be qualified in L.A and nail surgery, along with registration with the HCPC.

After the period of mentorship the successful candidate will progress to lone working, with advanced practitioners a phone call away. The North Podiatry team is a highly motivated team which meets regularly and is part of the much wider NHS Highland Podiatry Department. The Podiatry service in the area is managed by an integrated team manager with professional leadership from the locality Podiatry Professional lead.


You will be able to demonstrate sound professional and clinical knowledge, with understanding of clinical governance, and its application. You will be able to demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills, along with the ability to prioritise, plan and organise your workload.


A full driving licence is essential for this post and a pool car will be available.


Relocation package is available to the successful candidate.


This is a permanent full -time post of 37.5  hours per week, to be worked in accordance with service requirements.
