Our Acute Services are delivered currently from three Sectors covering North Glasgow, South Glasgow and Clyde (Renfrewshire, Inverclyde & West Dunbartonshire) and three Directorates with cross site responsibilities covering Women and Children's Services, Regional Services and Diagnostics and Imaging. Inpatient and outpatient Acute and Medicine for the Elderly services are delivered across 9 sites which include Acute teaching hospitals of which the state-of-the-art Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and the Royal Hospital for Children are collocated on one of the largest hospital campuses in the UK and one of the most advanced in Europe.
We are now looking to appoint a new Clinical Service Manager who will have a leading role as a key part of the management team within the South Sector’s General Medicine & Medical Specialties. This role is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced individual to lead Scheduled Care for Medical Specialties including: Diabetes & Endocrinology, Infectious Diseases, Rheumatology, Cardiology, Respiratory Medicine, Gastroenterology and Immunology. Responsible also for Junior Doctor Induction, training and management you will contribute to delivering Unscheduled Care Performance and delivering safe, patient centred flow across 16 medical wards.
You will demonstrate the ability to operate efficiently with a high level of autonomy and will work in a self-directed way within the parameters set for the post. Proven ability to prioritise workload and ensure delivery of an effective and efficient service in both a proactive and reactive manner is a key component of the role.
As Clinical Service Manager you will be directly accountable to the General Manager for the delegated management and control of resources to ensure the achievement of business performance objectives within quality standards (e.g. ensure that performance targets are achieved such as agreed waiting list and time targets) and contribute to the corporate management of the service through the extended Management Team.
Educated to degree level and or demonstrating the equivalent skill set gained through experience, you will evidence significant management experience gained within a large, complex and time critical environment, preferably within the NHS. The successful management and delivery of waiting list targets together with budgetary management is an essential requirement of the role. Experience of successful project management is desirable.
