Senior Practitioner Nurse

Custody Suite - Burnett Road Police Station

Band 6 (£32,118 - £39,560) per annum pro rata

Part-Time: 25 hours per week 

Permanent Contract


An opportunity has arisen for a full time position within our Custody Healthcare Team . Working within a partnership with Police Custody Division, Scottish Ambulance Service and Acute and Secondary Care services, you will be responsible for undertaking a clinical assessment and providing the relevant care and required intervention in response to the individuals' physical and psychological needs, referring on to a medical practitioner or other service as required.

You should be educated to  / working at a degree level or working towards this with evidence of further education/CPD in relevant area, e.g. Minor Injury/A&E, Psychiatry,  drug and alcohol.  You would be required to  undertake further training appropriate to the developing role of a Senior Nurse in Custodial and Forensic Services.  Previous experience in a custody health care environment is highly desirable. Non medical prescribing qualification is preferred or a willingness to undertake the training in order to achieve it.


The successful applicant will be subject to Police Scotland vetting processes.
