Applications are welcome for the above Fixed Term (12 months duration), full time (40 - 48 hours per week) post based at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. The post is available to start from 1 August 2021.
Applicants must be Surgical trained to St4 level or above. This is an Exposure Prone post.
The successful applicant will join a well established team comprising another eight surgeons at ST level 4 or above attached to the Upper GI unit which provides both elective and emergency surgical care for the Lothian population providing registrar level support to the service. The main commitment will be to provide cover to the emergency general surgery on- call rota, and secondly to participate in the elective day surgery and inpatient ward duties with a focus on benign Upper GI surgery, general surgery and abdominal wall/complex hernia work. There will also be an element of undergraduate and Foundation-level teaching.
The post does not have educational approval from the Postgraduate Dean and will not be recognised for training.
