An exciting opportunity has arisen within Ward 5, Victoria Hospital for additional Band 2 nursing auxiliaries.  Ward 5 is a 10 bedded Ear Nose and Throat (ENT) ward along with an adjoining 10 bedded, 23 hr Surgical Short Stay Unit and ENT outpatient department at the Victoria and Queen Margaret Hospital.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to work within our friendly multidisciplinary team, dedicated to providing high-standards of care to achieve the best outcome for our patients.  You will undertake a supportive role in assisting qualified Nurses and Health Care Support Workers in the delivery safe and effective patient centred care. 

This is a permanent post for 37.5 hours per week and involves working shifts across the seven-day period including weekends and nights and will include working across sites.

You should be enthusiastic, dynamic, caring and compassionate, with a keen interest in urology & surgical nursing.  You should be self motivated, and strive to deliver high quality patient focused care.

We are looking for a team player with excellent communication skills necessary to perform this role safely and efficiently. You will be working alongside a registered nurse in a team but need to be able to work on your own initiative to provide excellent patient care.

Experience within an acute surgical ward is desirable, although not essential, as supervision and support will be available to orientate you into the role.
