Consultant Cardiologist
University Hospital Monklands (UHM) is looking for a Consultant Cardiologist to join its existing team of Consultants and wider multi-disciplinary team.
This post will enhance existing inpatient and outpatient capacity, and support ongoing service development including the provision of a cardiology in-reach service to the acute admission wards.
The cardiology service is centred on a well-equipped department at UHM, and has a strong link to the Joint NHS Lanarkshire Coronary Catheterisation Laboratory, based at University Hospital Hairmyres (UHH). UHM’s cardiology service includes input to coronary care, an established stress echo service, pacemaker implantation service, and rapid access chest pain clinics. The department has an excellent track record in relation to clinical trials and research.
Applications from candidates with any cardiology sub-specialist interest are welcomed. Sessions would be made available at the UHH Catheterisation Laboratory for Interventional Cardiologists. Alternatively, there would be opportunity to contribute to and develop services such as advanced echocardiography, CT coronary angiography, cardiac MRI and advanced pacing at UHM.
It is a particularly exciting time to join UHM as we are in the advanced planning stages for a new build hospital and all clinical staff are actively encouraged to contribute to the planning of clinical models to support this.
