We are delighted to be recruiting for a permanent Director of Workforce for NHS 24.

NHS 24 works with key partners in Scottish Government, Health Boards, particularly the Scottish Ambulance Service, Health and Social Care Partnerships, Local Authorities, other parts of the public sector e.g. Police Scotland, Independent and Voluntary Sectors and Social Care. NHS 24 delivers the national contact centre responsible for providing a range of telehealth and telecare services to the public. NHS 24 also supports and facilitates developments in digital services to improve the health and wellbeing of the people of Scotland.

The Director of Workforce is a fully integrated member of the Board’s Executive Management Team and the wider leadership team across the Board.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, this is a strategic leadership role with responsibility for improving and enhancing staff experience, wellbeing and culture. You will define, shape and lead on all aspects of the Board’s people plans, proving leadership for the teams that make up the Workforce Directorate.

You will be a committed team player with a strong corporate and staff partnership role, contributing to the development of the Board’s vision and organisational development.

This role requires an experienced leader in workforce innovation and change, currently contributing effectively at Board and Executive team level. You will demonstrate high levels of competency in NHS Scotland values and leadership behaviours. As a member of the Executive Management Team, you will play an important role ensuring that appropriate culture, behaviours and the staff governance agenda are delivered and embedded across the organisation.
