An exciting development opportunity has arisen within the Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professions (NMAHP) Directorate for a highly motivated and skilled individual to join the Senior NMAHP team within the Corporate Nursing function for a 12 month period in the first instance.

This key professional leadership role will involve working in collaboration with other Senior Nurses and Midwives to inspire, direct and promote systemic improvements in nursing and midwifery care and healthcare quality Board wide.

This role will provide expert professional support to the Board Nurse Director/ Deputy Nurse Directors on nursing, midwifery practice, leadership, governance and regulation which is underpinned by clinical care and professional standards for safe, effective and person centred care Board wide.

A pivotal element to the role will be to provide professional support to Board Nurse Director regarding NMC governance monitoring and reporting processes and act as witness support lead for all NMAHP referrals.


Interested individuals should have at least 5 years’ experience in a nursing/midwifery leadership role. You should have a robust understanding of quality improvements and service development and a proven track record of managing people and evidence of improving care for patients.

You must be registered on the NMC Register and have secured your revalidation.


Hours of work are:  37.5 Hours
