Job Advert

Junior Clinical Fellow in Plastic Surgery (3 posts)

Glasgow Royal Infirmary

The post is suitable for an enthusiastic candidate who may be seeking to gain some experience in Burns & Plastic Surgery with a view to a career in Plastic Surgery, but equally for those who might wish to gain exposure to Burns and Plastic Surgery as an adjunct to a career in another surgical speciality. There is opportunity for those who are less surgically inclined, but looking for experience of Medicine in general.

Although these posts do not have educational approval from the Postgraduate Dean, you will benefit from wide exposure to the work of the Unit, which comprises a wide range of plastic surgery. Previous experience in Burns and Plastic Surgery is desirable, but not essential.

The work will be at FY2/ST1 level (full-time posts have an on-call rota 1:11), and is expected to have rostered educational opportunities (clinics and theatre, including supervised operating on LA lists, tailored to include index cases). The expectation is that during this tenure, and with support from the Unit, you would enhance your Curriculum Vitae by submitting publications to peer-reviewed journals, and presentations to learned societies.
