The NHS Great Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) Bio-repository is a key component of the NHSGGC Research & Development activity. It is hosted with the Pathology Department in the Laboratory Medicine Building at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. The unit is responsible for acquisition, testing, storing and transfer of human tissue for medical research purposes. An opportunity has arisen for a 1.0 WTE Biomedical Support Worker within the Biorepository which supports a number research projects. The activities will focus on biobanking for Covid19 research and supporting delivery of key CSO funded studies.
A team player, good communication skills with a flexible attitude to work you will have a basic knowledge of/interest in biomedical science. While previous experience within a laboratory environment would be advantageous, this is not essential as full training will be provided. This job will enable you to gain experience of working in a high-level research environment with opportunities for hands on participation in on-going and evolving laboratory and clinical research studies.
