The Role
The role is for a Senior Orthopaedic Practitioner post. You will be in control of the Plaster room in the BGH, providing high standards of expertise in casting and splinting. You will be responsible for the technical ability through ongoing training and mentorship of junior plaster technicians in the department and to ensure high standards of plaster / splinting expertise is maintained. You will provide specialist advice to the wards and the multi-disciplinary clinical team as well as A&E on the appropriate plaster or immobilisation technique to be followed for any given condition.
The job is for 37.5 hrs, 5 days per week.
The rate of pay is Band 4 (£20,700 – £22,594 per annum)
You must possess a recognised national British Orthopaedic Association/RCN, AOT British Certificate in Plastering Techniques.
Sound knowledge of anatomy and physiology will be required for this role, and a minimum of 3 years experience within a plaster room environment would be expected.
