The NHSGGC Clinical Research Imaging Facility (CRIF) is looking to appoint an experienced imaging data professional. This post is a new development for CRIF as a result of the current expansion in machine learning and artificial intelligence approaches to image and data analysis.
CRIF currently utilizes high-end scanners i.e. 3T MRI, 7T MRI (the only system in Scotland) and a CT scanner to acquire image data, with plans to expand these imaging modalities. The flow of R&I imaging data is managed through CRIF, in some cases alongside the R&I Safe Haven (SH) team who play a supportive role in providing images and data for research and innovation projects. The post-holder will support data extraction, linkage and the secure, anonymised transfer of the required imaging dataset for CRIF projects, including those related to the National Consortium of Intelligent Medical Imaging (NCIMI), the CRUK PREDICT-Meso Accelerator and Industrial Centre for Artificial Research in Digital Diagnostics (iCAIRD). Duties include facilitation of access to pseudo-anonymised images and data for external companies and researchers to develop new AI algorithms and technical methods for translation into the clinical environment. After testing and validation such algorithms need Regulatory approval before they can be procured by the NHS. To formulate and implement data management techniques for quality imaging data collection to ensure adequacy, accuracy and legitimacy of data. To devise and implement efficient processes to support analysis needs, with attention to all technical aspects.
Up-scaling and expansion of these processes will be supported by the post-holder alongside the senior CRIF team, with prospective partners, to develop, agree and execute realistic project plans in a timely manner.
Key essential qualifications:
Qualified in IT /Statistics / Biostatistics to degree level and/or postgraduate qualification in in one of these disciplines or experience to an equivalent level.
Previous experience in clinical research data management, data management systems and an understanding of the core principles of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) are essential.
High level of competence with a range of computerised systems, databases and data sources with a proven ability to maintain highly complex information sources and databases.
