Job Purpose
To lead and co-ordinate delivery of the Adult Weight Management and Type II Diabetes Framework programmes within the Lanarkshire Weight Management Service to support the strategic vision for the Lanarkshire Healthy Weight Strategy
Key work areas
Plan, develop & co-ordinate the NHSL AWM & Type II Diabetes Framework programmes in line with the National AWM Minimum Standards and NICE PH47 & SIGN 115 guidelines
Provide direct day to day line management, guidance & strategic direction for the multi-agency AWM & Type II Diabetes Framework teams
Utilise a strategic and co-ordinated approach to collaborative working when engaging with NHSL, HSCP, Local Authority and other external partners and co-ordinate commissioned AWM & Type II Diabetes Framework services
Provide performance management for AWM & Type II Diabetes Framework services and Implement monitoring, tracking & evaluation systems
Qualifications and Experience
- The post holder must be qualified to degree standard.
- The post holder should have or be working towards a postgraduate qualification or have the equivalent knowledge and experience that demonstrates an understanding of health improvement/ health promotion/public health at postgraduate level
Plus experience of:
Health Promotion/Public Health/Health Improvement
Partnership working and negotiation skills
Contribution to policy implementation
Budget monitoring
Proven track record in the delivery of Health Improvement/Public Health projects
Knowledge:
- Demonstrate knowledge, understanding and application of appropriate public health competencies https://www.fph.org.uk/, or be on or working towards the UKPHR Practitioner Registration.
- Local and National Policies and Strategies that affect the health of the population
