An exciting opportunity for a Band 5 registered nurse to join our enthusiastic surgical receiving nursing team in Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
Do you want to work in an interesting surgical ward environment where you can gain experience and skills in a variety of general surgical specialties? Do you have a particular interest in working a fast paced receiving unit?
Glasgow Royal Infirmary is a tertiary referral centre where you will encounter patients from surrounding health boards throughout Scotland.
Ward 65 (30 beds) and Ward 66 (31 beds) receive patients directly from A&E and GP for assessment. The patient group present with a wide range of surgical conditions often complex surgical. Nurses are foremost in supporting emergency nurse led care including Sepsis 6 and SPSP frameworks. You would work closely with the Surgical Nurse Practitioners.
As part of this team your continuing development is forefront with access to further education and leadership development with internal support with vocational modules . There is a robust career structure within surgery North GG&C. and opportunities to develop towards Surgical Nurse Practitioners, or assist the flow of patients improving patient care and safety is available.

Previous experience is advantageous and an interest in Surgical Receiving Nursing .
Shift pattern is rotational and will consist of a variable shift pattern working a mixture of Early/Late/12 hour shifts.
