Post: clinical teaching fellow – safer use of medicines
base: acute HOSPITAL in NHS GGC and e-health headquarters
The e-Health Directorate seeks to appoint a Clinical Teaching Fellow to provide clinical input and support for the Hospital Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration programme (HEPMA). The post is aimed at any level of trainee who has completed Foundation Training up to and including specialty trainees.
The post-holder will work alongside other clinical and eHealth colleagues in the HEPMA team and will bring their clinical experience of prescribing in hospital to help develop the prescribing system for use across all of the Health Board’s hospitals. They will then become a core part of the implementation team, helping draft communications for clinical services across the Health Board and supporting training to prescribers in different acute sites. Clinical Safety and Quality Improvement will be central to this work.
This post will have up to 8 hours per week (2 clinical sessions or 1 day) to maintain clinical practice in a clinical specialty of interest to the post holder.
The posts do not attract banding, but Fellows may register with NHSGGC Doctor Bank and perform out of hours sessions at the discretion of their supervisor. The successful candidates will be offered a one-year fixed term appointment, which may be extended.
You will be fully registered with the GMC with a current Licence to Practice and must have completed Foundation training. Evidence of an interest in and an aptitude for quality improvement and/or medical education is essential. Although possession of a higher postgraduate qualification (eg MRCP, MRCS, FRCA) is highly desirable we would welcome applicants who have not yet reached that stage of their training.
These posts have not been approved for Training purposes by NES.
