An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic band 5 nurses within one of the rehabilitation wards within Stobhill ACH.

These wards include patients over 65 years of age, most patients have a variety of co-morbidities allowing nursing care to be the foremost discipline in changing outcomes. There is a supportive working partnership within the multidisciplinary teams.

Within patients’ initial admission you will gain essential assessment skills including frailty scoring and care planning that is person centred. We will ensure you will become proficient in veno-puncture and cannulation, catheterisation and CAS implementation.

You will develop essential skills with patients of complex medical needs and complex discharge pathways.  Nursing is a strong visible directive in assuring care and setting standards with the patient in the centre of the care pathway.

You will provide clinical leadership for the assessment of patient needs, implementation and evaluation of care, which are evidence based. Utilising all available resources taking into consideration the lifestyle, gender and cultural background and ensure involvement with the patient, family, carers and significant others. You will empower patients to take responsibility for their health, well-being and future lifestyle by practising in an open, transparent and inclusive manner; thereby ensuring patients have the relevant information to participate in decisions about their care.

The ability to work on your own initiative but also as part of an integrated team is required. You are required to demonstrate flexibility by working within a service.

As part of this team your continuing development is forefront with access to further education and internal support with vocational modules via S.V.Q scheme and staff development opportunities.

It is essential that you are currently a Registered Nurse with the N.M.C trained in general nursing or adult nursing. Opportunities are also available for newly qualified staff.

As part of N.H.S Greater Glasgow and Clyde’s pre-employment checking for all appointed candidates, evidence of current N.M.C registration will be required prior to start date. You should therefore note candidates who are unable to provide confirmation of current N.M.C registration, in line with projected start date for this post, may not be shortlisted for interview.

Shifts are 11.5 hours and patterns are rotation between day and night.
