NHS HIGHLAND

RAIGMORE HOSPITAL, INVERNESS

Consultants in Acute Medicine

YOU want to work with NHS Highland, you just may not know it yet!

Acute Medicine in Raigmore Hospital is growing again, and we are able to offer an exciting opportunity for at least 2 new members to join our truly dynamic team.  Due to our unique location, we have the perfect combination of a highly rewarding job in a large and expanding unit set within the marvellous Scottish Highlands; unparalleled in its natural beauty, giving exciting outdoors opportunities, remarkable quality of life and also a superb place to raise and educate a family.

We are able to offer a range of job opportunities within the department and will consider applicants who wish to be involved in any of our commitments which include Medical HDU, Ambulatory Emergency Care, a COVID-secure Clinical Decision Unit, Short Stay ward, and support of our hospital-wide Medical Emergency Team.  Applicants with appropriate skills may also be considered for contribution to our departmental commitment to covering Caithness General Hospital, a small Rural General Hospital and also to the new Infection Unit which is currently under development to provide ongoing 21st-century Infection cover as we recover from the pandemic. We can also offer posts with academic links to our local UHI, research within our Centre for Health Sciences, or as several consultants have done, continuing/developing links with national and international academic bodies.  We are happy to consider applicants under the Scottish Government Global Citizenship Initiative which allows us to support consultants who wish to develop links to support healthcare internationally.

If you have any interest in a move to the Highlands, don’t hesitate. We are happy to discuss flexible working in a number of different ways, and can develop job plans to suit the right applicant within the wide range of opportunities above.

Applicants must be on the Specialist Register with a Licence to Practice and in possession of, or within 6 months of obtaining CCT in Acute Internal Medicine or General Internal Medicine at the time of the interview.  International applicants who do not yet possess the above are also invited and will be judged on their individual merits.

We think you will love working and living here!
