The post holder will provide the highest quality physiotherapy service and will work within the multi-disciplinary neonatal hip screening service in Lothian including audit of strategic aims and education of other professionals. 

Expert and highly skilled in clinical assessment, diagnosis and management of children with hip dysplasia (DDH) primarily but also talipes equino varus and musculo-skeletal disease.

Independently evaluate children referred to the paediatric neonatal orthopaedic service by G.P’s, other paediatric Consultants and other health professionals.  The post-holder provides direct clinical care to their own caseload, which encompasses highly specialist physiotherapy assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of complex paediatric patients. 

The post-holder provides specialist physiotherapy advice within the Division, to other Health Board areas and to other Healthcare professionals.

As part of the acute physiotherapy team they will contribute to the development and implementation of service changes in line with overall service objectives.
