In the OOHs District Nursing service we have a team of highly skilled nurses who are available to nurse patients at home.

We operate with a skill mix of staff who are able to meet patient’s complex nursing needs whilst remaining at home.

Nurse must be a Registered nurse

The Community band 5 staff nurse in the OOHs period would take direction from the band 6 District Nurse in charge having been delegated an appropriate workload.

The Community staff nurse should possess good communication skills and should be able to adapt to the more challenging situations that can arise in the Out of Hours period.

In the role nurse will be able to develop further skills helping to enhance her knowledge base. Nurse will also have the opportunity to support and assist to develop more junior staff within the work environment.

Nurse will be expected to maintain their educational development and at all times work within the NMC Code.

Nurse should be able to demonstrate good and caring behaviours, seen as essential to the role.

The shift pattern for this post is 6 hours/week, alternative weeks of 2 evenings one week and 1 evening the next.
