Pharmacy Public Health, Pharmacy Technician Lead Pharmacy Technician, Band 7 secondment opportunity

This is an exciting new post for a 12 month secondment opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join Pharmacy Public Health (PPH).   A key mitigation strategy for the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic is mass vaccination in various settings including 8 hospitals, 17 mass venues as well as care homes and general practices.  With restricted supplies of vaccine and potentially high demand, effective and efficient use is essential. Current Covid-19 vaccines have temporary authorisation and limited extended stability information is available.  Safe implementation of practices concerning cold chain management is required in a variety of venues. The vaccine transformation program is an extensive change in the way all immunisation services are provided particularly in the context of Covid-19

This individual needs to be able to work at a strategic level, actively participate in multidisciplinary planning groups, develop standard operating procedures, influence and negotiate with HSCP technicians providing local support and provide specialist expertise as required. This would be a great opportunity for secondment of a technician to build experience in PPH.

Candidates must be registered with The General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) with an NC in Pharmaceutical Science (or equivalent).  They must have 7 years post qualification experience providing a broad understanding or a range of technical practice, and including staff management.

As the post may involve travel around a variety of venues a driving licence is desirable.  This post is 37.5hrs with the ability for some flexible/home working but the majority of the time will be based at West House, Gartnavel.
