An exciting opportunity has arisen to join NHS Forth Valley as an Advanced Practitioner within the new Urgent Care Centre (UCC). We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced nurse who will embrace this dynamic and challenging role. Ideally the applicant will be a competent Advanced Practitioner with experience in GP Out of Hours, primary care or acute medical/surgical care. The UCC will receive patients with a broad range of clinical presentations and therefore a willingness to develop is essential. Applications will be considered from APs with experience in any or all of these areas.

The UCC is an exciting new venture in NHS Forth Valley and we are looking for individuals who will help develop this new speciality.

The role will involve working across professional and organisational boundaries in partnership with other nursing and medical staff, allied health professionals and senior management teams. The successful applicant will provide direct patient management, have sound clinical knowledge and highly developed clinical decision-making skills in acute and/or primary care.

The applicant should posses the ability to prioritise fluctuating workloads, remain focused, and be flexible in an extremely busy environment. The post will support part of the advanced practice team based in FVRH.

Qualifications to be undertaken:

  • Non-medical prescribing NMC registered
  • Advanced Clinical Examination accredited course, preferably at level 11
  • Masters Level study.
  • Appropriate decision-making course in either primary or acute care at level 11

Preference will be given to applicants who have all, or some of the above qualifications however applications will be considered from suitably experienced nurses/paramedics as AP in Training under Annex 21 conditions.
