Applications are invited to join our enthusiastic and innovative team. This post will primarily be based in the Day Surgery Unit at Stobhill but you will be required to demonstrate flexibility and expected to engage in multi-site working between New Stobhill and Glasgow Royal Infirmary to meet the needs of the service.As part of the multidisciplinary team you will have responsibility for assessment of care needs and the development of programmes of care and the implementation and evaluation of these programmes ensuring the delivery of high quality care to patients within the perioperative department. You will be a First Level Registered Nurse trained in general nursing or adult nursing. Experience in Day surgery is desirable. Opportunities are also available for newly qualified staff. You will be supported in expanding your knowledge and skills by our departmental practice development staff. The ability to work on your own initiative but also as part of an integrated team is required. You are required to demonstrate flexibility by working within a service which presently runs over a five day week. Furthermore, you will be expected where necessary to engage in multi-site working within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde in order to achieve the needs of the service. As part of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde’s pre employment checking for all appointed candidates, evidence of current NMC registration will be required prior to start date. You should therefore note candidates who are unable to provide confirmation of current NMC registration, in line with projected start date for this post, may not be shortlisted for interview. This post requires PVG Scheme Membership/Disclosure Scotland Check. The shift pattern for this post is over 4 days.
