NHS Ayrshire & Arran have led the way in Scotland for pharmacy and prescribing developments with the introduction of electronic prescribing; the large number of pharmacist prescribers working in secondary and primary care to support person-centred care in accordance with Achieving Excellence in Pharmaceutical Care.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to drive forward redesign of our surgical services in University Hospital Ayr and University Hospital Crosshouse. You will gain broad clinical experience in surgical specialties such as urology, general surgery, orthopaedics, critical care, pre-operative services and develop your skills in redesign and clinical improvement.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential as is the ability to work effectively as part of the multidisciplinary team.
You will have a Masters of Pharmacy Degree or equivalent and be working towards/have completed Post-registration Foundation training or be able to demonstrate evidence of clinical knowledge to that level.
This post carries a contractual commitment to participate in the pharmacy emergency duty service and work on a shift system (which includes a commitment to cover 7 days including weekend and evening). Post-holder will also be required to participate in our Public holiday rotas.
This post is a Fixed Term / Secondment Opportunity until 31st March 2022
