In support of our core purpose of Working together to achieve the healthiest life possible for everyone in Ayrshire and Arran we are committed to a culture that is Caring, Safe and Respectful.  You are required to work collaboratively in a safe, care and respectful way.

As a Patient Pathway Coordinator (Cancer Tracker) you will work within Cancer Services. You will be responsible for robust pathway tracking and ensuring the progress of suspected and confirmed cancer patients, monitoring their journey across the 31 and 62 day pathways in accordance with cancer waiting times and targets.

The role involves liaising with the necessary departments to ensure prompt patient appointments, tests and diagnosis, and escalation to line management and senior management as necessary to ensure patients are treated within the standards. You will be responsible for coordinating and recording MDT meetings within the hospital, and providing administrative support for documentation of subsequent treatment plans.

The Cancer MDT support team provides vital support to clinical teams in discussing and agreeing treatments for suspected and confirmed cancer patients. This is a pivotal administrative role ensuring that patients on the pathway are diagnosed and treated as quickly as possible and in line with national standards.

You must be able to demonstrate crucial attention to detail and excellent communication skills

You will be an exceptionally organised individual who is able to work proactively and independently to ensure patients treated within targets. Excellent communication skills and attention to detail are essential to build and maintain a variety of working relationships within existing teams. Proficient computer skills are essential, as you will need to input and collate data across a number of computer systems and databases.

You will need to be able to work well under pressure in a busy environment; you will need to be a confident individual as you will be required to present information on a weekly basis to senior management.
