The successful candidate/s will be required to attend GCU and study BSc (Hons) Clinical Physiology.


The minimum entry requirements for this course is as below;


SQA Higher: Minimum BBC or BCCC or equivalent pointage.

A level: Minimum CCC or equivalent pointage.


Recommended subjects: Two of Biology (or Human Biology or Biotechnology), Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics at a minimum of Higher Grade.


Essential subjects: applicants must have Mathematics or Physics at a minimum of Standard Grade I or II or Nat. 5.


During this time, you will be considered as a trainee under Annex 21 training programme where whilst undergoing training you will be paid 60% of the top of Band 5 and on completion of training will then move on to Band 5 scale.


  • A practicing healthcare Practitioner, who contributes towards provision of a comprehensive Audiology Service. Takes part in contributing to service development and maintains professional standards.


  • Assists the Audiology Team Leader in the daily clinical work of the department and is responsible for managing own workload and the workload of Assistant Audiologists.


  • This involves expert rehabilitative care, diagnostic assessments of hearing, and care for adult and children hearing aid users.


  • Demonstrates effective communication and interpersonal skills with other professionals and service users, including patients, carers and relatives.


  • Provides clinical assessments and hearing aid programming and provision using complex computer software and specific specialised hardware.


  • Assists in one or more of the specialist areas of Audiology Service provision.



  • BSc in Audiology or Dip Audiology with relevant BSc  or BAA parts 1 &2 with H’Tec/B’Tec MPPM.


  • Ability to communicate effectively with all client groups.


  • Ability to perform a wide range of audiological tests.


  • Basic computer skills
