Band 6 Specialist Radiographer post 22.5 hours per week (provisional Tuesday-Thursday)
A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Diagnostic Radiographer to join the Shockwave Lithotripsy (ESWL) team part of the larger Radiology Department at Aberdeen Royal infirmary.

We are seeking a Radiographer with sound experience and an enthusiasm to extend their role through on-the-job training in ESWL.

The successful applicant will be given training in ESWL, becoming part of this exciting and developing multi-disciplinary service, offering a rare opportunity to become involved in therapeutic care of patients with renal tract stones as well as providing excellent levels of diagnostic imaging.  Once trained, the individuals will be expected to work independently whilst demonstrating good decision making skills and high levels of patient care.

NHSG has an EDAP TMS' lithotripter, The Company a key player in ESWL. EDAP TMS' lithotripters use the patented Electro conductive and the Visio-Track technologies to offer the best results combined with intuitive and user-friendly devices.
NHSG Radiology Department provides imaging services to approximately 620,000 people living in Grampian, Orkney and Shetland.  NHS Grampian is in an exciting phase of modernisation of which Radiology is key.  The Board are currently  investing £120 million for the Baird Family Hospital which will bring together maternity, gynaecology and breast services on one site along with The ANCHOR Centre which will provide outpatient and day-patient treatment for patients with cancer and blood disorders.  Radiology is also scheduled to benefit from significant investment through the Elective Care program and is a key component to the NHS Grampian Major Trauma Centre.  Regional planning is also underway through aligned national and regional programmes of work.
