The West of Scotland Innovation Hub is a venture involving NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, along with other health boards in the region, to promote the West of Scotland to innovators and industry on a national and international stage. It will play a key role in identifying health innovations and developing a streamlined evaluation process to ensure that they are either adopted at pace and scale or undergo early rejection. A new innovation team based at the West of Scotland Innovation Hub will provide the services and expertise to enable innovations throughout all stages of the innovation pathway from discovery, selection, evaluation and deployment.
In addition, The Industrial Centre for Artificial Intelligence Research in Digital Diagnostics, known as iCAIRD, brings together a pan-Scotland collaboration of 15 partners from across industry, the NHS, and academia. It has a research hub at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, with the aim of establishing a world-class centre of excellence focusing on the application of artificial intelligence to digital diagnostics.

The senior communications officer will play a key role in communicating and marketing the Hub and iCAIRD to innovators and industry and in promoting the success of the venture to key stakeholders including patients, public, industry and academia.

The post holder will be responsible for marketing communications, media relations, digital communications, internal communications and brand management for the Innovation Hub, and producing high quality, engaging content for a variety of audiences across a number of channels.  It is essential that you have a Degree level education or equivalent in a relevant discipline such as media, journalism or substantial experience in a communications environment.  Current experience in a media/communications/PR role. It would be desirable if you have knowledge of government in Scotland and an understanding of the role of the Scottish Parliament and NHSGGC.  The shift pattern for this post is Normal working hours + potential 1 in 5 on-call rota
